Dr. Weil’s name is synonymous with Integrative Medicine which he defines as healing-oriented medicine that considers the whole person (body, mind, and spirit), including diet and lifestyle. He received an A.B. degree in Botany from Harvard an M.D. from Harvard Medical School. In 1968, while still a medical student, he conducted the nation’s first human trials on cannabis. A prolific author, Dr. Weil is a regular columnist for Prevention magazine and has written more than 80 books about his holistic approach to optimal health and wellbeing. He has chaired MGT’s Science & Medical Advisory Board since 2015.

Donald Abrams, MD

Dr. Abrams was one of the original clinicians/investigators to recognize many early AIDS-related conditions. He conducted numerous clinical trials investigating conventional as well as complementary therapies in patients with HIV. Dr. Abrams most recently served on the prestigious National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine’s Committee of The Health Effects of Cannabis and Cannabinoids: “The Current State of Evidence and Recommendations for Research.” Just sixteen nationally prominent physicians and researchers were selected to review and research 10,000 scientific abstracts to produce the comprehensive report published in 2017.
He is a graduate of Brown University and the Stanford University School of Medicine.

Mr. McElroy has 40 years of experience in agricultural operations and research, including his tenure as Director of Production Operations at a vertically integrated, State-licensed medical cannabis dispensary in Maine. His specialties include the design of indoor and greenhouse crop cultivation, research and production facilities, growing methodologies and operations, plant nutrition, lighting, gas exchange management, biological pest, and disease control, biosafety principles and protocols, plant breeding, genetics, and post-harvest crop handling. He teaches agricultural best practices and guides research and production teams. He graduated from Harvard University with an AB in Botany and earned his Ph.D. in Plant Breeding from and Cornell University.

Dr. Peake is a former United States Secretary of Veterans Affairs (2007-2009) and Surgeon General of the United States Army (2000-2004). He was the nation’s principal advocate for veterans overseeing a nationwide system of health care services, benefits, and programs for American veterans and dependents. He received his BS degree from U.S. Military Academy at West Point and his MD from Cornell University Medical School. Dr. Peake started his Army medical career as a general surgery resident at Brooke Army Medical Center, in Houston, Texas. His interest in medical cannabis is driven by his lifelong care for veterans.

Brian Becker, MD

Dr. Becker is an honors graduate of the University of Arizona College of Medicine who has worked within the field of Integrative Medicine for three decades. He received his certification in Myotherapy from The Desert Institute of the Healing Arts in 1988 and has maintained a private practice in bodywork throughout his career in healthcare. He was recruited to develop the initial curriculum within the Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona where he remains a clinical lecturer. Dr. Becker is the founder of LORIX Corporation, established in 1997, to promote Integrative Medicine. He is also a national and international consultant in Integrative Medicine-related product development.
